Who are the Grumpy Grandpas?
Grumpy Grandpas had many sources of inspiration. Most importantly, on a personal level we are a team that consists of members who have all been through many struggles in life. We have team members who were homeless, survived cancer and struggled with many other challenges this thing called life had to offer us.
Many of us had our lives saved by two men (Grumpy Grandpas). These men run charitable organizations (United Veterans Beacon House & Hope House Ministries).
Grumpy Grandpas NFT is our way of trying to give back what was so freely given to us. That’s the sappy stuff that motivates us. Not everyone is always interested in that but we feel it’s most important to know what drives the people behind any project, so yeah, that’s us.
The team members come from a variety of different backgrounds yet somehow meshed seamlessly to create our beloved Grumpy Grandpas.
One of our Devs and Co-creators of Grumpy Grandpas is…well me, MorrisBX. I’m the creator of ThatHustle.com and currently work for Verzuz an American webcast series created by record producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. I wear many other hats but currently my favorite cap is developing on Solana. Personally, I fell in love with the development that was happening on Solana, specifically in the NFT space after stumbling across Solanart. From there I became very intrigued and dove deep into how to develop an NFT collection on Solana. After coming-to a month later in Rust-ridden fog I found myself in a position to actually do it thanks to the good folks from Metaplex and countless others I connected with in the space.
Then we have our artists, the insanely talented folks from Constantly Create Shop; Deejay, Joe & Mike. These guys are some of the most talented & motivated people I’ve ever came across. I approached them with the idea and at first it looked like their heads were going to explode but they were in from the beginning. I’ve learned from getting closer with them throughout the development of this project that these guys love a challenge….and man has this been challenging. Fortunately, we’re based in close proximity to one another which made the development that much easier. We’ve spent countless days and nights perfecting our Grumpy’s to ensure all 10,000 of them were perfect. We’re blessed to have these guys on the team and couldn’t have done this without them.
Finally, we have our dedicated promo team. This team is led by our fearless leader Tom Sharkey. I grew up with Sharkey, and I remember being amazed at his ability to connect with literally anyone INSTANTLY. It’s honestly magical, I still don’t know how he does it…but he does. Other critical contributors to our promo team include the ever elusive twins; Cory & Dan. These guys are go-getters man. They don’t stop…I honestly don’t think they sleep…but that’s a good thing….for our project at least (I think we’re all going to need counseling after this lol). I love these guys, we met 6 years ago and since connecting have drastically changed our lives for the better.
There are so many other people who helped contribute to Grumpy Grandpas, a notable mention has to go to our guy Hunter. This kids a wiz (I sound like my mom, but thats what comes to mind when trying to describe him). He’s currently attending Stevens Institute of Technology to obtain his Doctorate in Pure & Applied Mathematics. So yeah, a wiz (short for wizard). He’s helped tremendously in literally every aspect of the project, whether it was some coding tweaks or some creative writing, Hunter’s been our go-to guy.
So yeah, that’s us. A bunch of dude’s from all walks of life who connected to bring you something special, something that means something to all of us in honor of the two men (Grumpy Grandpas) who helped save our lives.
